See
the Thermo Bulb release in action
|
The optional thermo-bulb release shown in this
demo unit mounts above the release on the inside wall near the
ceiling, directly above the main release unit. (1)
The pull wire is captive in the slide of the thermo-blub
unit and will open the release if the bulb breaks or is removed. It
is impossible to latch the system if the Thermo-bulb is missing. As
the room temperature rises with heat from a fire, the thermo-bulb
glass breaks, pulling the control rod, and releasing the bars, and
allowing easy exit from deadly smoke and fire or entry by rescue
personnel if someone has become incapacitated and unable to release
the bars from the inside. (2) The thermo bulb is
the same device used in fire sprinklers. The activation or
deployment temperature is controlled by the type of bulb.
(3) The thermo-bulb jaws can be opened for inserting and removing the thermo-bulb by inserting a small rod or screw driver into the recess through the slot and pulling down. A plastic guard covers the control rod to help prevent damage.
